All ingredients were in successful use over many years in various free software projects. The compiled sshhttooooll script is intended to be used inside the source tree of those free software packages. There it can take over various (usually non-portable) tasks related to the building and installation of such packages. GGLLOOBBAALL OOPPTTIIOONNSS The following _g_l_o_b_a_l _o_p_t_i_o_n_s are available for sshhttooooll. Any _c_o_m_m_a_n_ds are ignored if one of them is present on the sshhttooooll command line. --hh, ----hheellpp Displays a short help page describing the usage of sshhttooooll and it's ingredient _c_o_m_m_a_n_ds in a compact way. --vv, ----vveerrssiioonn Displays the version number of sshhttooooll. --dd, ----ddeebbuugg Displays shell trace messages for debugging purposes. --rr, ----rreeccrreeaattee Recreate the sshhttooooll script with its own individual _s_h_t_o_o_l_i_z_e(1) call. CCOOMMMMAANNDDSS The following _c_o_m_m_a_n_ds are provided by sshhttooooll. They are all called via ""shtool" _c_o_m_m_a_n_d". HHIISSTTOORRYY Some scripts contained in GNU sshhttooooll were already written in 1994 by _R_a_l_f _S_. _E_n_g_e_l_s_c_h_a_l_l for use inside some private source trees. Then they evolved into more elaborated versions over the years and were used in various free software projects like ePerl, WML, iSelect, gFONT, etc. They were complemented with other scripts from the author which he wrote in March 1998 for the ``Apache Autoconf- style Interface'' (APACI) for Apache 1.3. In April 1999 the sshhttooooll package was created out of the accumulated master versions of the scripts and in June 1999 it entered the status of an official GNU program and this way finally joined the group of GNU aauuttooccoonnff, GNU aauuttoommaakkee and GNU lliibbttooooll.
